Meet Dick Austin: Director of Performance Management
Dick Austin joined #TeamVINCUE in March 2025, and it didn’t take long to make his mark. Recently promoted to Director of Performance Management, his path to VINCUE spans nearly a decade in automotive software. When he saw what VINCUE was doing, for their clients and for their people, he knew it was time for a change.
“I really liked what they do with their employees,” Dick says. “The familial environment is very conducive to learning and growing.”
And if you catch Dick in a candid moment, you might also learn he has strong opinions about the future of ice cream. Something about fruits of the forest cobbler with hints of vanilla and salted caramel. The man has range.
Back to business though, Dick says exactly what’s on his mind. He even has a go-to quote for it: “I ain’t Willy Wonka. I don’t got time to sugarcoat.” That directness shows up in how he works with dealers too. His message to the sales floor is simple: meet with your performance manager. “Their only job is to help you sell more cars and make more money.”
For Dick, standing still isn’t an option. “You’re either getting better or you’re getting worse,” he says. “Every single day, even if it’s small minimal areas, we’re getting better.” That mindset, always innovating, always moving, is exactly why he fits here.
